The number of micro-finance programs that sprung up in the country necessitated each that organization be certified by the Burundi National Bank in order to continue operation. CAV was one of only 11 programs that were given the required certificate of recognition as official partners with the Burundi government in micro credit operations; 27 other organizations had to cease their work. This government certification will be beneficial in helping to get additional funds for the program.
