Reconciliation
CAV Summer School of Reconciliation
CAV brings an essential ingredient to the problems of Central Africa, the spiritual message of tolerance, forgiveness and love. This is the only message appropriate to the deeply affected region of Central Africa.
CAV is different (from other international non-profit organizations).
It combines humanitarian assistance, community development and
reconciliation education into one integrated peace-building program.
There will be no lasting development without reconciliation and vice
versa. CAV has adopted a regional approach to the conflict in Central
Africa. Such vision is the only viable approach given the mutual influence
between the three countries (Rwanda, Burundi and Eastern Congo)."
— Joseph Sebarenzi, former speaker of the Rwandan Parliament.
Goals of the Reconciliation Conferences
The Reconciliation committee sets two goals to be achieved at the Reconciliation conferences.
1. To have at least 90 % of the participants willing to carry the mission of reconciliation, forgiveness and tolerance in their churches and community.
2. To have 100% of participants were given tools to accomplish the reconciliation mission.
Our reconciliation conferences aim to reach men, women and the youth who were the main targets of conflicts in the Great Lakes Region of central Africa.
THE CONFERENCES
The Africa CAV board recruits speakers and assigns them with topics that fit each area's needs. Due to the great success of our conferences over the last 9 years, local government officials, aside from participating in our events themselves, appreciate the CAV program continue to ask for more sessions.

The school of reconciliation is working and participants are more interested in learning. We thank our donors who have made our reconciliation conferences possible despite the chaos of the great lakes region that seems endless. People from central Africa have appreciated your support. Each year they request more conferences to see if it could help break these barrier that exist between people.
The Good news is, most participants of the reconciliation conferences in Burundi as well as in Rwanda and DR Congo accepted to carry the mission of reconciliation in their churches as well as in their neighborhood.
